have president obama but pope francis talk about is a living wage. set the minimum wage at a level that people can survive on. you have states already emulating what a lot of these workers are talking about. seattle recently raised their minimum wage to $15 an hour. california $10 an hour. i think people are understanding because frankly those strains end up getting pushed to the states. states have to subsidize those same people. >> very quickly, wouldn't a business get a lot out of the henry ford model? unilaterally saying we're going to pay more than market price for our employees and charge you more and wouldn't that be like a huge pr for a business? >> if a business could do that, if a business could do that they would have done it already. they wouldn't need the federal government telling them to do that. it's instrubtive the examples we're hearing, fast food strikes, airport in seatle, these are union-backed campaigns to try to create a discussion, try to demonize large companies but at the end of the day all they're doing is restricting opportunities for sort of the people

the obama administration has bide season going to basically be dealing with this region a lot more than we've seen. i think he's going to be the guy to try to talk sense to these different leaders, to try to get the south koreans to deal bet we are the japanese and to try to get both of them to interact in a more constructive way with china. there's a lot of resentment that's built up over thousands of years here culturally, but what joe biden is trying to bring a message is their prosperity regionally is on the line if they don't find a way to fundamentally begin working together. and he really -- if you see this guy and you commented on it before, he's such a natural politician and he goes right to the human core of these leaders. in asia, that's not an easy trick. so joe biden is pushing the human relationships and i suspect he'll be the guy to manage shinn ping for some time. >> something you don't see normally, political skills. pete clemons traveling with vice president biden. thank you, sir. the white house insists the white house is not trying to contain china, just simply playing

in the world is going them? to they know who they're talking about? the new york times best selling author. it knows all and tells all right here next. ♪ ♪ lou: a lot going on. the obama administration moving closer to finalizing a controversial rule that would gi green energy company's 30- year permits to kill bald and golden eagles in the country without penalty. hundreds of thousands of birds are not killed every year after flying into large wind turbine blades and other obstaes. the industry claims only 2 percent of the eagles are killed by those wind turbines. a federal study recently found wind farms killed at least 85 gold nine bald eagles from 1997 until 2012. why am i telling you about this? because i care about this a lot. this angers me to think about what we're doing in this country. the white house is now reportedly completing a review of the rule. final details are not known. the rule could still be tweaked, as they put it, but significant changeare rare at this stage in the process. so call your congressman. call your senator, call the president. senator elizabeth warren
